SHANGHAI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Huskies of Washington University embraced every minute of the first-ever regular-season China game and hold on for a 77-71 win over the Longhorns of the University of Texas here on Saturday.

The Huskies built a nine-point second-half lead by hustling and muscling its way around. The Longhorns had their chance late as Isaiah Taylor's reserve layup cut the deficit down to two. But then his teammates Demarcus Holland air-balled a three-pointer and Javan Felix missed twice from long range.

Dejounte Murray of the Huskies knocked the ball away from Cam Ridley and got fouled with 38.2 seconds left. He made one of two free throws, giving the Huskies a three-point lead. Taylor missed a jumper, which gave the Huskies chance to close the game out at the free throw line.

Isaiah Taylor finished with a match-high 27 points and is the only Longhorns player reached in double-digits. Andrew Andrews led the Huskies with 23 while Malik Dime and Marquese Chriss combined for 22.

"It's proud for us to be part of the history," said Lorenzo Romar, head coach of the Huskies.
